HEY Guys! So the title says it all, this is a suggestion for skyrealms. Make scamming illegal, it is really unfair for players that get scammed. They work for their stuff and the scammer just takes it all, and doesn't get punished for it. In my pov that is really not ok. I understand all those haters that say "It is your fault you get scammed just don't trust anyone and your ok." But trusting people on your realm and doing stuff together is a part of skyrealms. Having friends on your realm is really awesome and fun! But even the best of friends sometimes get greedy and scam you. There is a way to prevent all of this! If scamming was illegal people would have to think about doing what they want to do. They would have to think if they want to put their account and their accessibility to play skyrealms
at risk in exchange of gaining items. It would change skyrealms and it would become a better community.

Lets make this a thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Reply with #MakeScammingAgainstTheRules if you agree! and post your experience of getting scammed if you have been scammed before! I really hope we can make skyrealms a better place. Thats it from me.

Forgot to add this, "its not the items that you lose when you get scammed, its the time. You lose your precious time spent on the server to get those items."

scamming, what a "wonderfully debatable" subject, ive been scammed numerous times over the course of my time on SkyRealms, its NOT a fun thing to have happen to you, so much time, wasted on builds, items, money, etc.
No, scamming is what makes the server fun imo.
think about the sides from wich you're coming from with that opinion also, "Fun" in the scammers eyes, due to them just gaining trust, then getting items and destroying the realm. i've had countless friends due to a-holes that scam. i've almost quit myself a few times.
without scamming, the server could be the "fun, free place" its meant to be.
so, #MakeScammingAgainstTheRules

Just don't get scammed, and it won't be a problem :)

Fun? When people lose millions of dollars due to scamming, it isn't fun at all. If you put your in their position as the person who got scammed would it be fun to start all your over again? They ruined all your hard work, all the time spent in sky realms. Scamming shouldn't be allowed in a building game unlike factions a competitive type of minecraft. (And I respect your opinion, don't need to change it because of my post)

This is a great debate! I see good points on both sides. Question, however. If we did make scamming against the rules, how would we enforce it? How would we prevent players from framing other players for scamming? What evidence is required to prove a scam? If we did look into this, we'd have to make sure that it's fair for everyone.

So i have been playing on a factions server for about a week now, its illegal to scam any players, or inside your faction here. How they do it? :

so If you get insided they have a plugin that allows you to check who looted the chests, broke certain blocks, (mainly spawners), so if you believe you have been insided on the server you just call an admin and he can check who mined the spawners and who took items from the chests. After they check who did it that the player is punished. (the faction that got insided get all the items back)

Punishable and unpunishable scams:
So i'll basically list the types of "scams" that would not be punishable and that would be punishable:
Unpunishable:
-tpa killing
, like many servers say, you do not have to accept that /tpahere. (Even if its allowed it still should not be encouraged)
-accidentally pressing your drop button, well this should definetely not be punishable, as many people can say they pressed q by accident.
(cant think of more atm)

Punishable:
-Insiding the realm you are added to.
Basically if you are added to your friends realm, stealing items from him would not be allowed. (to see how this would be handled see above "-realm scamming"
-Shops. Getting people to your realm, announcing some sort of a giveaway, using the [shop] sign to sell spawners for really cheap and the first one to click it wins, and then suddenly changing the [shop] sign to sell bone meal 100k each (can be anything just gave an example) This should definetely be punishable in my opinion.
-Casino. Making a casino at your realm, promising to triple someones money if they win, and after the person wins banning him. This should also be illegal, you are the owner of the casino, and you have to keep your word.
-Lending money to someone and then the person doesnt give it back. So a lot of people might say this should be unpunishable, but i think it should be, and i know how this could be made equal for everybody, so basically if someone is asking for money you need to make a contract where both parties agree to the deal etc. P1: I agree to lending you $1million and i agree that you will give me 1.1million back the 2018.30.2. P2: i agree to borrowing 1million, and then giving you 1.1million back at 2018.30.2, If the player doesn't keep his part of the deal, he can report the other player on forums, the reported player should then get 1week to return the money and if he fails to do so he should get punished, Question: What if i pay back the money but i still get reported?
Make sure you take a picture when you paid the money back, so if the player reports you post the picture on the appeal and you will be safe. (NO CROPPED PICTURES)
If there's any other scams i missed, be sure to let me know and ill add them to this list

This can be changed at any point in time so if you have any suggestions on how to improve this let me know

The problem is most of these scams are very very easily avoidable. I feel it may just be a nuisance for staff to deal with this. People aren't going to know this rule is enforced, and still scam.

Maybe, making a public guide on how to avoid scams would be better.

Besides, making it against the rules will not eliminate it. Scamming will be even easier because it will be seen as "bannable". All one would have to do is go on a VPN and a cracked alt then transfer goods to mains.

You might think its impossible, but tracking vpn's to mains is really easy. vpn doesn't hide you completely ;)

It wouldn't be a nuisance, as it would be a part of their job, they applied for this job knowing they would have to spend time on the server.

If scamming is made illegal it will be put on the rules, and as well as announced by jenny on the following update at friday, and discord. If you failed to read the rules it is your own issue.

No, VPNS are hard to find as I can name plenty of users who have been using one to play for the past 4ish months LOL

i think scamming can sort of be against the rules but not to much of a bannable offense, what i mean by that is make scamming a 3 strike you're out rule , the first time you are caught 1 day ban the second time , 1 week ban , the third time sorry but you will be perc banned
